Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins suffered an ankle injury while playing against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football.

The veteran quarterback was sacked twice in the fourth quarter against the Packers, and it appeared like he had a non-contact injury to his right leg shortly before the second rush. After that, Cousins was seen on the sidelines, unable to bear weight on his right leg and needing two trainers’ aid.

Not long after, Cousins was unable to bear any weight on his right leg and was seen receiving assistance from two trainers on the sidelines. He was taken to the locker room after the Vikings quickly ruled him out for the rest of the game.

Kurt Cousins is an NFL player for the Minnesota Vikings. Before being chosen in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins, he started his football career at Michigan State. 

After starting the season as Robert Griffin III’s backup, Cousins gained the right to start for the team, a role he retained until 2017. Cousins set multiple franchise records while he was a member of the Redskins and earned a spot in the 2017 Pro Bowl.

With the signing of a record-breaking three-year, $84 million contract with the Vikings in 2018, Cousins became the highest-paid player in NFL history. The Vikings have qualified for the playoffs each of his four seasons in charge, winning a division championship in 2022.

On the field, Cousins is praised for his accuracy, potency, and fortitude. He is a devout Christian who publicly expresses his beliefs outside of football.

With two Pro Bowl selections under his belt and a spot on the First Team All-Pro in 2022, Cousins has an impressive resume. He is the all-time leader in throwing yards and touchdowns with the Vikings and has been a key member of the winning team.
