During the third test against South Africa in Cape Town, Indian cricket team captain, Virat Kohli, was seen encouraging his teammates through cheers from the dugout.

While on the field, the captain turned towards the dugout and urged the players who were not playing the match to ‘keep clapping’ for the bowlers.

“Keep clapping boys, keep clapping..,” he could be heard saying as India took a South African wicket.

The moment came when Mohammad Shami provided two wickets in a single over on day two of the test. This breakthrough pushed Kohli to raise up his team’s morale by making the dugout get behind the team and show their support.

The moment he signalled them to clap, the whole dugout could be seen clapping in synchrony, making for a fantastic vision of team spirit to behold.

The video of the incident soon went viral on social media, with users commending the Indian skipper’s constant motivation and encouragement for his players.

People shared the video with captions such as, “This guy just creates an amazing atmosphere in the match,” or “No matter what people say Virat is the best captain in the history of Indian test cricket. This guy never stays shut clapping shouting cheering throughout. Unbelievable.”

Jasprit Bumrah’s brilliant spell, in addition to a combined effort by the other pacers, contained the South African innings to 210. The hosts trailed India by 14 runs.

Bumrah started the proceedings for India by striking early in the first session of Day 2. The 28-year-old bowled opener Aiden Markram with a stunning delivery and then also picked the key wicket of Keegan Petersen. Mohammad Shami (2/39), Shardul Thakur (1/37) and Umesh Yadav (2/64) also played their part in restricting the hosts to an under-par total.
