Footballing legend Ronaldinho Gaucho on Tuesday has congratulated Lionel Messi and wished him ahead of the Argentine star’s new chapter with Paris Saint-Germain.

Hours before La Pulga dons the club’s jersey and is unveiled at the Parc des Princes as their grandest signing in history, Ronaldinho took to social media, saying: “It’s a great joy to have played in these two clubs and now see my friend wearing this shirt, may there be many moments of joy Leo!!!”

Like Ronaldinho, Messi will now have played for both FC Barcelona and PSG in his career.

Although the Brazilian midfielder was part of the French club’s dressing room at the beginning of his career. He joined the Parisian side in 2001 at the age of 21 and played there for two years. Following which the former Ballon d’Or winner joined FC Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Messi joins PSG at the age of 34, after spending 21 long years in the Catalan club, starting out as a teen.

In his tweet, Ronaldinho, 41, further said that he was pleased by the signing of Sergio Ramos from Real Madrid and congratulated PSG for building a super team.

The Brazilian legend, adored globally for his footballing skills, wrote: “I’m also very happy with my partner @sergioramos on the team and a super cast, I’m smelling Champions.”

With the valuable addition of Messi, Ramos, Achraf Hakimi, Georginio Wijnaldum and Gianluigi Donnarumma this summer, PSG have transformed into an incredible side, very capable of dominating Europe for years to come.

In their arsenal, the Parisian club already has the firepower of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Marco Verratti. However, it will be a daunting task for manager Mauricio Pochettino to manage the incredible egos that will be at play in the dressing room.

After his Barcelona contract expired, Messi became the most desired free agent in football history. The Catalan club had hoped to keep Messi, who agreed to a pay cut, but it still wouldn’t have complied with the Spanish league‘s financial regulations. Knowing the situation the Qatari-owned club pulled some strings and managed to land the massive signing within a few days.
