Contract

The New York Jets secured Mecole Hardman on a one-year contract worth $4 million during the offseason. However, his role within the team this season has been remarkably limited, with only 28 offensive snaps and a solitary reception to his name. The rise of Xavier Gipson, who had previously gained notoriety through his appearances on “Hard Knocks,” has rendered Hardman dispensable. Gipson has made a significant impact both as a kick returner and as a receiver, marking a pivotal shift in the Jets’ roster dynamics.
