The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Baltimore Orioles 10-1 on
Saturday. In a must-win game at the Rogers Centre, the Blue Jays got off
to a fast start. Vladimir Guerrero Jr., an MVP contender, started the charge with
a two-run homer in the first innings.

The home run was a 450-foot shot. Vladimir

‘s father, who is a Hall of Famer, has a career-high total of 44.

After the game, Guerrero stated via a translator,
“They gave me the pitch I was looking for, what I was working on in BP,
and I took advantage of it.”

With the win, the Toronto Blue Jays extended their AL
wild-card pursuit to the last day of the regular season. They started the day
tied with Seattle for the second wild-card place, one game behind Boston.

After finishing 20-9 in September, the Blue Jays are 2-0
to open in October.

“It’s October baseball and we’re trying to make a push,” Alek
Manoah mentioned. “We’re just focused on controlling what we can control.”

“The level of confidence that we’re playing with right
now is amazing. Everything is kind of clicking, our bullpen, our starters, our
offense.”

Toronto became the fourth team in the AL East to achieve
90 victories, making it the first division with four 90-win teams since the three-division play began in 1994.
