This day in 2017, Indian batsman Rohit Sharma became the first cricketer to hit a third double One-day International (ODI) century. Having earned the nickname of ‘hitman’, Sharma leaves the opposition reeling with his immaculate hitting skills. And when he is in a mood, the fans are in for a treat.

Celebrating Sharma’s famous knock, sports broadcaster Star Sports on Sunday posted a picture of Rohit Sharma on Twitter.

“#OnThisDay in 2017: Sharmaji ka beta aced a test which would be
out-of-syllabus for most people – a 3rd 200 in ODIs for Rohit ‘Hitman’ Sharma”,
the Star Sports tweet read.

There was more to expect from the post for a cricket fan, as Sharma himself replied in the comment thread of the post, saying ‘more to
come’.

Having passed a fitness test in the National Cricket Academy in
Bengaluru on Friday, Sharma will be flying to Australia and joining the Indian
squad before starting to train for the third and the fourth tests to be held from
January 7 to January 11 and January 15 to January 19 respectively.

In the year-ending series against Australia, so far India has lost
the One Day International series by 2-1, winning the T20 International series
by the same margin.

Having strained a hamstring during IPL 2020, Sharma missed out on
both the ODI as well as T20I series, and will be looking to make it up in the
Test format.
