Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is nicknamed Mahi, is celebrating his 41st birthday on July 7, 2022. The former Indian skipper is currently in the United Kingdom along with his wife and some friends.

Many famous cricketers and celebrities wished MS Dhoni a happy birthday on social media platforms, but one greeting stood out. This was posted by his on-field buddy Suresh Raina. MS Dhoni and Raina’s cricketing careers have largely overlapped. The two also spent most of their Indian Premier League seasons playing for the same team: Chennai Super Kings.

Suresh Raina wrote, “Happy Birthday to my big brother. Thank you for being my biggest supporter and mentor in every phase of life, may god bless you and your family with good health always. Much love to you mahi bhai. Wishing you a great year ahead!”

Raina also posted a video along, which had a montage of various special moments he has shared with MS Dhoni, both on and off-field. The song ‘Jaane Kyu’ from the Bollywood movie ‘Dostana’ was playing in the background.

MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina, the original bromance of Indian cricket, even retired on the same day, just hours apart. Both of them announced their retirement in a social media post on August 15, 2020.

Other famous cricketers joined Raina in wishing MS Dhoni a happy birthday on Thursday. Virendra Sehwag, also a former Indian cricketer, wrote a long post on Twitter.

He said, “Till the time full stop doesn’t come, a sentence isn’t completed. Till the time Dhoni is at the crease, a match isn’t completed. Not all teams have the fortune to have a person like Dhoni, Happy B’day to a gem of a person & player, MS Dhoni. Om Helicopteraya Namaha.”
