In a mouth-watering thriller, which went deep into the extra-time, Milwaukee Bucks squeezed out an early advantage against Maimi in the best-of-seven series, after Khris Middleton and Giannis Antetokounmpo sank Heat 109-107 in Round 1 of the Eastern Conference playoff opener on Saturday.

Middleton tucked home the game-winning jumper with less than a second left on the clock during the overtime. However, Bucks’ relied on the trio of Antetokounmpo, Middleton and Jrue Holiday to led the charge on the offensive, as they combined for 73 of the team’s 109 points for Milwaukee.

Meanwhile, for Heat, the attack was a lot more spread out as Duncan Robinson and Goran Dragic were the ones finding the regular buskets, but offensively Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo largely struggled from the field.

Although Heat talisman Jimmy Butler did take the game to overtime at the end of the fourth quarter, driving to the basket to make it 99-99 as time ran out at Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum.

The late winner settled the game in overtime and gives the Bucks the early 1-0 lead in the series with game two at home on Monday.

Middleton led the Bucks scorers with 27 points, six rebounds and six assists, with Giannis Antetokounmpo, who appeared to be struggling with a sore left arm, adding 26 points with 18 rebounds and five assists.

“It’s a good start,” Middleton said afterwards, according to AFP inputs. “A lot of mistakes, a lot of missed free throws, lot of threes from them, and we missed threes. But it’s a great start to what we want to do and where we want to be.”

For Miami, Goran Dragic led the scoring charts with 25 points, while shooting guard Duncan Robinson finished with 24 points. Butler, the star of Miami’s run to the NBA Finals last season, finished with 17 points.
