With a 132-103 win, Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday scored their third straight victory against Washington Wizards in round one of the NBA playoff series. 76ers Centre Joel Embiid led the score for the team with 36 points, marking a career high.

In a display of all-round domination across the four quarters, 76ers took an 8-point lead in the first quarter (28-36), widening it further in the second, third and fourth. While the Wizards tried hard for a comeback in the second quarter, the score remained 30-36 in favour of the 76ers.

Embiid’s top score of 36 contained eight rebounds and two assists, while other significant contributions came from Power Forward Tobias Harris, who scored 20 with 13 rebounds and five assists, and Shooting Guard Danny Green who hit a score of 15.

While Washington Wizards Point Guard Russell Westbrook put on an able performance with 26 points (12 rebounds, 10 assists), including a triple-double for his side, it was not enough for a win. Shooting Guard Bradley Beal, too, tried to make it work with 25 points of his own, including six rebounds and three assists, but to no avail.

The victory marked the third for 76ers in the seven-match playoff series between the two sides. With four games left, the task has visibly become difficult for the Wizards, who now need wins in all four matches left.
