In the NFL’s first Sunday night game of the season, the Dallas Cowboys visited the New York Giants on Sunday. The Cowboys scored a touchdown after a field goal attempt was blocked, which put the game on a bad note. When the Giants departed the field at halftime, their performance had gotten so bad that their own supporters began booing them.

Although Jones received a four-year, $160 million agreement from the New York Giants in March, some supporters have started to wonder if Taylor would provide the team with a more promising long-term road to success.

The Giants had issues in every facet of the game during the season opener on September 10. Jones, who labored against a forceful Cowboys defense, was the target of a large portion of the criticism. Jones had completed only 9 of his 21 attempts by the end of the third quarter, totaling just 59 yards and two interceptions. The longest drive for the club lasted 15 plays and covered 57 yards, but it ended with a missed field goal.

Saquon Barkley produced some strong runs that were reminiscent of their playoff run the year prior, which earned Brian Daboll the NFL Coach of the Year award, and Daniel Jones had many excellent scrambles.

Sadly, their initial success quickly deteriorated. Micah Parsons’ aggressive play on a key 3rd-and-2 close to the goal line pushed Andrew Thomas into a false start penalty, sending the line of scrimmage back five yards.

The Giants selected him with the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft after his NCAA football career at Duke. Jones, who weighs in at 220 pounds and is 6 feet 5 inches tall, is recognized for his remarkable blend of mobility and arm power.
