Aaron Rodgers has a torn Achilles tendon in a season-ending injury, an MRI has confirmed, say several reports. Rodgers, playing for the first time for the New York Jets, injured his ankle in the first 5 minutes vs the Buffalo Bills during Monday night football in week 1 of NFL 2023.

Week 1 of the National Football League (NFL) 2023 was brutal. Baltimore Ravens wideout JK Dobbins’ season too has ended with a torn Achilles and Las Vegas Raiders Wide Receiver Jakobi Meyers of the Las Vegas Raiders is in concussion protocol.

Steelers WR Diontae Johnson is expected to miss several weeks due to a hamstring injury and Running Back Aaron Jones of the Green Bay Packers is still being evaluated his coach said, after exiting the game vs the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

Here’s how other major players fared with injury in NFL 2023 week 1:

Running Backs:

Rhamondre Stevenson (New England Patriots) – Active

Rhamondre Stevenson played vs the Philadelphia Eagles in a game-time decision on Sunday. Stevenson was listed as questionable after missing practice due to a stomach bug.

Breece Hall (New York Jets) – Active

Breece Hall, who had a season-ending knee injury last year, played Monday night vs the Buffalo Bills.

Kenneth Walker III (Seattle Seahawks) – Active

Walker came off the injured list and played vs the Los Angeles Rams. Walker was limited in practice earlier in the week with a groin injury.

Jonathan Taylor (Indianapolis Colts) – Out

Jonathan Taylor, drafted first among Running Backs in most fantasy leagues last year, was a non-starter in week 1 of this season. He has an ankle injury but is also in a dispute with the Colts over his contract. 

Zack Moss  (Indianapolis Colts) – Out

Taylor’s fellow Colts Running Back Zack Moss was out with an arm injury vs the Jaguars.

Kendre Miller (New Orleans Saints) – Out

Kendre Miller was out for week 1 with a hamstring injury. The Saints, who are playing the Titans, are already missing star Running Back Alvin Kamara, who is suspended for the first three weeks.

Wide Receivers:

Cooper Kupp (Los Angeles Ram) – Injured Reserve

Star wide receiver Cooper Kupp has been placed on Injured Reserve. Kupp has a hamstring injury.

Christian Watson (Green Bay Packers) – Out

Christian Watson has a hamstring injury and did not play vs the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

Romeo Doubs (Green Bay Packers) – Active

Romeo Doubs, who was questionable also with a hamstring injury, was taken off the injured list just before Sunday’s game vs the Bears.

Odell Beckham Jr (Baltimore Ravens) – Active

Odell Beckham Jr came off the injury list; he had entered it for a short while with an ankle injury.

Jerry Jeudy (Denver Broncos) – Out

The 24-year-old wideout has a hamstring injury and was ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Marquise Brown (Arizona Cardinals) – Active 

Cardinals Wide Receiver Marquise Brown, listed as questionable all week with a hamstring injury, played vs Washington.  

DJ Chark Jr (Carolina Panthers) – Out

DJ Chark has a hamstring injury and was ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Adam Thielen (Carolina Panthers) – Active

Adam Thielen was questionable with an ankle injury but came off the injury list and played.

DeVante Parker (New England Patriots) -Out

Parker has an injured knee and did not play the week 1 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Tight Ends: 

Travis Kelce (Kansas City) – Out

Kansas City superstar Travis Kelce bruised his knee and did not play vs the Detroit Lions in the season opener on Thursday. Kelce hurt his knee during practice but is said to have avoided a long-term injury.

Mark Andrews (Baltimore Ravens) – Out

Mark Andrews of the Baltimore Ravens, ranked second to only Travis Kelce among Tight Ends in the NFL, did not play vs the Houston Texans. Andrews has a quadricep injury.  

George Kittle (San Francisco 49ers) – Active

Kittle, who was questionable with a groin injury, played vs Pittsburgh. 

Quarterbacks:

Kyler Murray (Arizona Cardinals) – Out

Top QB Kyler Murray is out with a knee injury and ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Arizona Cardinals do not plan to remove him from the PUP (physically unable to perform) list just yet.
