The CBS Sports production team, the broadcasters of the NFL, on Sunday were seen continously struggling with microphone issues during the AFC championship game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals.

Bengals defeated the Chiefs 27-24 and will head to their first Super Bowl in 33 years.

The microphone malfunctions started during the national anthem. Grammy Award-winner Ashanti was delivering the ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ when her voice all of a sudden cut out. However, spectators at the Arrowhead Stadium chipped in and continued singing, creating an exceptional spectacle.

Then there were issues during the half-time show. While, Boomer Esiason, Phil Simms, Nate Burleson, Bill Cowher and James Brown were trying to give their analysis, a performance from Walker Hayes, in the background, kept disturbing them. It became really difficult for the experts to speak and fans at home to understand what they were saying.

“Somebody at CBS getting fired for this mic situation for their half time show lmao,” a social media user tweeted.

“I really didn’t need a Walker Hayes concert to go with the Halftime Report… CBS’ mic system is NOT fancy like,” another one tweeted.

Erasing the first-half deficit to take a late 24-21 lead, the Bengals were chanrging. But Harrison Butker’s 44-yard field goal as time expired in regulation sent it to overtime.
