Cleveland Browns’ quarterback Baker Mayfield delivered a 57-year touchdown pass to Donovan Peoples-Jones at the tick of half time as the scorelines showed 23-14 in favour of Arizona Cardinals. Mayfield, in the next quarter, left the field with a left shoulder injury sustained but made his way back to the game shortly after.

Mayfield’s Hail Mary pass travelled 66.4 yards in the air, the longest completed pass since 2016. The Cardinals led Cleveland 30-14 with 5:30 minutes left in quarter four.

Mayfield’s pass comes a week after he had attempted a similar last-second throw on the final play in a 47-42 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Mayfield’s ball landed harmlessly in the end zone without any touching it.

After a 20-0 first half show, the Browns were in 23-7 deficit. At the ultimate end of the second quarter, Mayfield, after escaping Arizona’s four-man front, slung the ball to the end zone. Dono and Peoples-Jones, right on position, claimed it and seal a Hail Mary touchdown.

Later in the game, Baker Mayfield was sacked by Cardinals’ JJ Watt on 2nd-and-13 on Arizona’s 45-yard line. He curled up and appeared in pain. the medical staff was rushed to the field.

After leaving and heading back in the Cardinals medical time multiple times, Mayfield returned to the game. The team said that the injury was to his left shoulder, which he previously injured in the Week 2 game against the Texans. Mayfield partially tore his labrum and has been wearing a harness since.

Meanwhile, Browns running back Kareem Hunt has suffered an apparent serious calf injury. Hunt’s right leg buckled as he tried to walk off the field after a passing play. Trainers then assisted Hunt to the sideline and medical tent.
