A light show was held before the National Football League (NFL) week 17 game between Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills at the Paul Brown Stadium on Monday.

The game was suspended by the NFL after Bill’s safety Buffalo Bills suffered an injury after a tackle on Tee Higgins.

He was administered CPR and AED, according to reports, and was taken to the UC Medical Center in an ambulance.

“Tonight’s Buffalo Bills-Cincinnati Bengals game has been postponed after Buffalo Bills’ Damar Hamlin collapsed, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced,” the NFL statement said.

“Hamlin received immediate medical attention on the field by the team and independent medical staff and local paramedics. He was then transported to a local hospital where he is in critical condition. Our thoughts are with Damar and the Buffalo Bills.”

“We will provide more information as it becomes available. The NFL has been in constant communication with the NFL Players Association which is in agreement with postponing the game.”

His mother Nina Hamlin, who was at the stadium to watch the game, traveled in the ambulance with him to the hospital. Hamlin was spotted taking selfies with his mother before the NFL game. 

Bengals and Bills fans gathered outside the medical facility to pray for the recovery of the Bill’s safety.

“Just because we’re Bengals fans, doesn’t mean we aren’t fans of him. Nobody wants to experience something like this, that was horrific. We support you Bills. Cincinnati supports you.” one Bengals fan told Fox 9 reported Payton Marshall. 

Videos of the fans gathering outside UC Medical Center were also shared on social media.
