Jay-Z was courtside at Madison Square Garden in 2003 for LeBron’s first road game at the location. And the same happened Tuesday for LeBron’s possible passing of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

James entered the Lakers’ game against the Oklahoma City Thunder needing just 36 points to break the NBA’s all-time scoring record of 38,387 points held by Abdul-Jabbar.

“He deserves it,’’ Mike Ballard, who was wearing a Lakers jersey with No. 33, the number Abdul-Jabbar wore, told USA Today. “You can’t take anything away from him because he’s only been here five years.”
