Russell Wilson
signed a five-year contract extension with Denver Broncos. The deal is worth
$245 million with $165 million guaranteed, ESPN reported. With the five-year
extension, Wilson is geared to play for Broncos for seven seasons. With an
average annual salary of $49 million, Russel Wilson is now the second-highest
paid quarterback in the National Football League (NFL), second only to Aaron
Rodgers
of Green Bay Packers.

Russell Wilson has
played 10 seasons of the NFL so far. The 33-year-old has thrown for 37,059
yards and 292 touchdowns while adding 4,689 yards and 23 more scores on the
ground.

Denver Broncos
traded five draft picks and three players for Wilson in March this year. The
nine-time Pro Bowler is behind only Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers in touchdown
passes. Russell Wilson led the Seattle Seahawks to victory in Super Bowl XLVIII,
the team’s only NFL title till date.

When Russell Wilson
moved from Seattle Seahawks to Denver Broncos, he still had two years and $51
million left on his contract. Wilson is set to earn $24 million this season and
$27 million next year before the extension kicks in.

Russell Wilson will
debut for the Denver Broncos on September 12 when the Broncos open their season
at Seattle.

Watson has. Deshaun Watson enjoys a fully-guaranteed $230 million contract with
the Cleveland Browns.
