The departure of Mane, who agreed to personal terms with Bayern days ago, had long been on the cards, with the Senegalese reportedly having signalled his intention to leave after the Champions League final.

While Liverpool had initially turned down Bayern’s meagre offers for Mane, they have, according to transfers guru Fabrizio Romano, agreed to a potential €40 million deal for the Senegalese forward, with a €32 million fee and a potential €8 million in add-ons.

Although Liverpool are set to lose a world-class player to Bayern, there are no hard feelings between the Reds and Mane, with the 30-year-old leaving to face a new challenge.

Mane, who joined Liverpool in the 2016-17 season from Southampton, had been an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s side that went on to win the Champions League, the Premier League, the FIFA Club World Cup, and England’s domestic ups.

The Senegalese forward made a sensational start to his Liverpool career, scoring the winning goal against Arsenal in a 4-3 win on his debut. Over the years, Mane became a clutch player for Liverpool, netting on several critical occasions to take the club to new heights.

In his 269 games for Liverpool, Mane scored 120 goals and notched 38 assists, and the Reds will miss the Senegalese sorely despite adding the likes of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz to their ranks.
