The Pakistani batter got out quickly in Pakistan’s crucial match against South Africa at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). Azam, who came into the T20 World Cup as the best batter in white-ball cricket, has struggled for Pakistan in the Super 12 stage of the ICC competition.
When he and opener Mohammad Rizwan stepped out to bat in match number 36 between Pakistan and South Africa at the SCG, the top batsman was feeling the pressure. Although many anticipated that Azam would silence his detractors by scoring again, the star batter was given the boot before the powerplay was over.

The Pakistani captain was trolled on Twitter for his innings against the Proteas as Azam displayed yet another batting failure.
Opener Mohammad Rizwan lost his wicket against South Africa at the SCG for 4 off 4 while Babar got 6 off 15 balls. Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan led Pakistan’s comeback after Mohammad Haris (28 off 11 balls) was dismissed. Pakistan reached 185-9 in the 20-over match because of Shadab’s quick-fire 52-run innings off 22 balls and Ahmed’s 35-ball 51.

Early in 2017, Babar Azam became the second-fastest player to five ODI tonnes behind Quinton De Kock when he reached his fifth against the West Indies in his 25th innings. His 1306 runs after 25 hits was the highest total, exceeding Jonathan Trott’s totals.
Pakistan had only one victory in the ICC tournament, where they are in the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup. Pakistan is ranked fifth in Group 2 overall. Only two points have been earned by Pakistan in three games during the T20 World Cup’s Super 12.
