Japan continued to dominate the medal tally at the 2020 Olympics with 13 gold, five silver and four bronze medals. Gymnast Daiki Hashimoto, Judoka Chizuru Arai and swimmer Yui Ohashi were amongst the medalist for Japan on Wednesday.

Following the host nation on the medal tally, China have 12 gold, six silver and nine bronze medals. With a medal in basketball 3 X 3, Team USA has 11 gold, 11 silver and nine bronze in the Tokyo Olympics so far.

Team India did not win any medal/s on Wednesday. Ace shuttler PV Sindhu, archer Deepika Kumari and boxer Pooja Rani advanced to the next stage in their respective events. Badminton players B Sai Praneeth, Tarundeep Rai and Pravin Jadhav crashed out. The Indian women’s hockey team suffered a 1-4 loss to Great Britain.

The likes of 2012-medalist Mary Kom, PV Sindhu and the Indian men’s hockey team will be in action on Thursday. The US women’s beach volleyball team will face Kenya while the men’s team will go against Argentina.
