After winning three medals on Day 10 at the Tokyo Paralympics, India have taken their overall tally to 13 — including 2 golds, 6 silvers and 5 bronzes — and is now at the 37th spot.
Shooter Avani Lekhara landed a record second Paralympic medal on September 3 and became the first Indian to do so. Meanwhile, archer Harvinder Singh secured a bronze medal in individual recurve.
However, the attention now quickly jumps to the Indian athletes in action on Day 11 of the grand competition. Starting the day will be Men’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 bronze medallist
Singhraj Adhana, along with compatriots Manish Narwal and Akash Mehra in the qualification round of the Mixed 50m pistol SH1 event.
Following which shuttlers Pramod Bhagat, Krishna Nagar, Suhas Yathiraj, Tarun Dhillon and Manoj Sarkar will represent the country in the men’s single event. Meanwhile, in the mixed doubles event, Bhagat will pair up with Palak Kohli.
Navdeep Singh will compete in the men’s javelin throw F41 final later in the day. Navdeep’s personal best of 43.58m puts him in contention for a medal.
