Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will present a star-studded night of action on Saturday, with three title fights and a bevy of pivotal contender clashes, the UFC 259.

The main event is lined up with 5 mouth-watering contests. Here is a look:

Jan Blachowicz  vs Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya

Jan Blachowicz has improved a lot even if his profile as a striker has more or less has been the same: power kicks and linear punch rushes. On the other hand, we have a kickboxer as savvy as Adesanya, who punishes under-polished aggression as decisively as anyone in the sport.

Blachowicz needs to avoid a striking battle and if he doesn’t, his size advantage may not be enough to pull him through.

Amanda “The Lioness” Nunes vs. Megan Anderson

Amanda Nunes is more than a favorite over Megan Anderson though nobody can rule out an upset. UFC has given even bigger upsets before, namely Holly Holm’s head kick knockout of Ronda Rousey and Shana Dobson’s comeback beatdown of Mariya Agapova last year.

According to many, Nunes basically has to hand the fight to Anderson on a silver platter for the challenger to have any sort of chance.

Petr “No Mercy” Yan vs. Aljamain “Funk Master” Sterling

Aljamain Sterling’s grappling may be his ideal weapon against “No Mercy”. Ever since his first and only professional loss, for some a highly questionable decision, against one of Russia’s best prospects in Magomed Magomedov, Yan has developed into one of the most potent counter-wrestlers in the sport. This is going to be a battle to watch as it is a 50/50 fight.

Islam Makhachev vs Drew Dober

Between his durability, technical savvy, and newfound power, it’s a rare few Lightweights who can match Drew Dober in footwork in UFC.

But how will he break Islam Makhachev’s takedowns is the real problem. Even if Dober’s takedown defence has improved significantly, it remains a serious Achilles’ heel, and his improved ability to get off his back isn’t going to do him much good against a wrestler as pathologically aggressive as Makhachev. Even if he finds a way, Makhachev is more than happy to start the cycle all over again.
