Arizona Cardinals’ wide receiver, A.J Green, did not play in the team’s NFL Preseason game against Baltimore Ravens. He will be looking to play in the team’s season opener against Kansas City Chiefs on September 12.

Who is A.J Green?

Adriel Jeremiah ‘A.J’ Green is an American football player who plays for the Arizona Cardinals in the National Football League.  Green was drafted fourth overall by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2011 NFL Draft and spent ten years with the team. He was born in Summerville, South Carolina on July 31, 1988, and attended Summerville High School. In high school, he participated in football, basketball, and track. He had 57 receptions for 1,217 yards and eight touchdowns as a freshman, and 60 receptions for 1,203 yards and 14 touchdowns as a sophomore. Green has committed to playing college football for the University of Georgia’s Georgia Bulldogs.

College Career:- 

He finished his freshman year with 56 receptions for 963 yards and eight touchdowns, all of which were college records. Despite missing time due to injury, Green finished the season as a sophomore with 53 catches for 808 yards and six touchdowns, leading the team in all of those categories. He graduated from the University of Georgia with 166 receptions for 2,619 yards and 23 touchdowns and declared for the draught in 2011.

NFL Career: –

Green was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round with the fourth overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year rookie contract with the Bengals worth $19.6 million. On the NFL Top 100 Players of 2012, he was ranked 77th by his teammates, a feat he accomplished as a rookie.

In his second season, he was named AFC Offensive Player of the Month for September. On the NFL Top 100 Players of 2013, he was ranked 16th. During the season, He finished the season with 97 receptions for 1,350 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Green set new career highs in receptions (98) and receiving yards (1,426, the third-highest total in Bengals history) while scoring 11 touchdowns in 2013. He was selected to the 2013 Pro Bowl and ranked ninth in the NFL Top 100 players of 2014.

Green finished with 69 receptions for 1,041 yards and six touchdowns in his fourth consecutive year, ranking 37th on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2015. In ten games and ten starts, he finished the 2016 season with 66 receptions, 964 yards, and four touchdown receptions. On the NFL Top 100 Players of 2017, he was ranked 17th by his peers. Green agreed to terms with the Arizona Cardinals on a one-year contract worth $8.5 million, with $6 million guaranteed, on March 17, 2021.

For his NFL career, A.J Green has been a two-time Second Team All-Pro ( 2012 and 13) and a seven-time Pro Bowl player (from 2011 to 2017).
