Anne McDaniel is grieving the death of her husband, MLB All-Star and baseball broadcasting hall of fame Tim McCarver. McCarver died at the age of 81 of natural causes on Thursday. Apart from his wife McDaniel, McCarver is survived by his two daughters and their children.

Who is Anne McDaniel?

Anne McDaniel is best known for being the wife of Tim McCarver. She and McCarver met in high school and got married in 1964. They studied at the Memphis Christian Brothers High School, in Memphis, Tennessee, from where he was recruited by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1959.

They had two daughters Kelly and Kathy. More details about McDaniel are not available in the public domain.

From 1959 to 1980, McCarver was a catcher in Major League Baseball. He is best known for his time spent with the St. Louis Cardinals, where he was a two-time All-Star, a part of two World Series championship teams, and the runner-up for the 1967 National League (NL) Most Valuable Player Award.

He won three Emmy Awards as a television commentator after his playing career, most prominently for Fox Sports. Twenty All-Star Games and a then-record 23 World Series were broadcast by McCarver. McCarver was given the Ford C. Frick Award for broadcasting in 2012, and he was also admitted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2016. He was admitted to the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame in 2017.
