Chamika Karunaratne is a house of talent. Not only he is a professional cricket player for Sri Lanka but was also a badminton player. He is predominantly a right-arm medium pacer.

Domestic Career
He made his First Class debut in the year in the year 2015 while playing for Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club in the Premier League Tournament. In the year 2018, he was named in Kandy’s squad playing for Super Four Provincial Tournament and also in the squad of the SLC T20 league. The very same year, in March, he secured a place for himself in the Sri Lanka team of 31 players going to the 2018 Asia Cup. He was named in the Colombo squad of the 2019 Super Provincial One Day Tournament. The year-end of 2021 includes his name in the Lanka Premier League for the Dambulla Giants. Kolkata Knight Riders bought him in auction for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League.

International Career
Karunaratne made his debut against Australia in the year 2019 playing the Test series with the cap number 148. In May 2021, he was named in the squad playing against Bangladesh in the One-Day International series, and he made his ODI debut on 29 May against the same playing field. He eventually went on to make his international Twenty-20 debut against India on 25 July 2021. He was also named in Sri Lanka’s squad for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. So far in the international arena, he has played 1 Test, 18 One Days, and 25 T20s.
Apart from Cricket
Apart from Cricket, he was a junior national champion in Javelin throw and has also competed in the international badminton tournament. His father Louie Karunaratne and brothers Dinuka, Niluka, and Diluka are also professional badminton players. In February 2021, he along with his elder brother and Niluka Karunaratne who happens to be Sri Lanka’s no 1 badminton player, played in the first round encounters in the men’s singles of the Sri Lankan Badminton Nationals.
