Evin Earl Lewis is a Trinidadian cricketer who plays for the West Indian cricket team in limited-overs internationals. He is a left-handed opening batsman and is the third batsman in the world to score two T20 International centuries.

He played for Lucknow SuperGiants in the 2022 Indian Premier League, having previously appeared for Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals in the competition.

The ICC Men’s T20I World Cup starts from Saturday, October 16th, and Evin Lewis and the West Indies squad will surely go all guns blazing from the get go to get their hands on this much coveted trophy.

Who is Evin Lewis?

Evin Lewis was born on December 27, 1991, in Rio Claro, Trinidad. He was a part of the West Indies Under-19s at the 2010 Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand, playing three matches.

Earlier, he had represented Trinidad and Tobago at the 2009–10 edition of the WICB President’s Cup (the domestic limited-overs competition). He can speak both Sinhala and Tamil.

His net worth is approximately around $1 million. He has a partner named Sharana Ali and his hobbies are playing golf and listening to music.

Lewis quickly climbed up the ranks playing age-group cricket for Trinidad & Tobago, and won the Under-19 championship with them in 2008. Lewis showed his big-match capabilities and shined in the T20 format. Due to such stellar performances, Lewis started garnering overseas interest. He hit a beautiful 101 not out off 65 balls in his first conquest at the Bangladesh Premier League and this paved the way for his first West Indies call-up.

In February 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) named Lewis as one of the ten players to look out for ahead of the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament.
