The wide receiver for the Las Vegas Raiders, Hunter Renfrow signed a two-year, $32 million contract with the team on June 10, 2022.

Who is Hunter Renfrow?

Hunter Renfrow is an American football player who currently plays for the Las Vegas Raiders in the National Football League. Renfrow was drafted by the Raiders in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He was born on December 21, 1995 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and attended Socastee High School. He played quarterback for his high school team. He had scholarship offers from Appalachian State, Gardner-Webb, Presbyterian, and Wofford, but chose to play college football for the Clemson Tigers.

College Career: –

Renfrow started all 13 games as a redshirt freshman in 2015, recording 492 yards and five touchdowns. In the 2016 College Football Playoff National Championship, he caught two touchdown passes. Renfrow missed nine games in his sophomore season in 2016 due to injury. He gained 353 yards and four touchdown receptions. The player caught the game-winning touchdown from QB Deshaun Watson with just one second remaining in the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship against the Alabama Crimson Tide, winning his first trophy in junior year.

In his final collegiate season in 2018, he regressed significantly, recording only 49 receptions for 544 yards and one touchdown, but Clemson still won the National Championship for the second time in three years.

NFL Career: –

Renfrow was selected by the Oakland Raiders (now Las Vegas Raiders) in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft with the 149th overall pick. He was the 17th of 28 wide receivers chosen that year. Renfrow made his NFL debut on Monday Night Football in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos, recording two catches for 13 yards in a 24-16 victory. Renfrow caught four passes for 88 yards that also included a 65-yard TD reception in a 27-24 loss to the Houston Texans in Week 8. Renfrow finished the 2019 season with 49 receptions, 605 receiving yards, and four touchdowns.

Renfrow appeared in 16 games in 2020, starting six of them, and caught 56 passes for 656 yards and scored two touchdowns.

Renfrow finished the 2021 regular season with a career-high in receptions (103), receiving yards (1,038), and touchdown receptions (9).

Renfrow made his playoff debut against the Cincinnati Bengals in the Wild Card Round, catching 8 passes for 58 yards in a 26-19 loss.  Renfrow inked a new two-year deal to remain with the Raiders. The contract was for $32 million for the length of the deal that was signed on June 10, 2022.
