Jack Fox is an American football punter for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). Fox played college football at Rice and was undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Fox was born on September 1, 1996 Fox was raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He played football and baseball at Ladue Horton Watkins High School, where he was enrolled. He passed for 1,900 yards and 18 touchdowns as a quarterback as a senior, and he was also named to the first team All-State as a punter and to the second team as a placekicker. On May 4, 2019, the Kansas City Chiefs signed Fox as an undrafted free agent. He was let go during the last round of roster cuts. After Dustin Colquitt, the team’s punter, had a quad strain, Fox was re-signed by the Chiefs to their practise squad on October 30, but he was released one week later on November 6.

On December 5, 2019, Fox was added to the Detroit Lions practise squad, where he remained for the remainder of the year. At the conclusion of the season, a futures contract was issued to him. At the conclusion of training camp, Arryn Siposs was defeated by Fox to become the Lions’ kicker for kickoff.

On September 13, 2020, Fox made his NFL debut against the Chicago Bears in the season opener, punting four times for 197 yards (a 49.3 average) and two inside the 20-yard line. Fox had 59 punts in his rookie season, averaging 49.1 yards and a net average of 44.8. Both belonged to the Lions. He was also selected for the second team All-Pro and the Pro Bowl in 2021.

On March 4, 2021, the Lions gave him an exclusive-rights free agent tender. On April 23, he signed the one-year contract. Fox planned a young specialist camp in the off-season of 2021 and invited young punters and kickers from the Detroit region.
