Jimmy Graham, a tight end with the New Orleans Saints, was reportedly detained on the evening of Friday, August 18. According to several news sources, he was apparently arrested after he was spotted wandering into traffic while showing signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

As per reports, he was brought into jail “near a Southern California resort,” despite the reports not mentioning the precise time or place of his detention.

Who is Jimmy Graham?

Jimmy Graham is an American football tight end who was recently signed by the New Orleans Saints in the National Football League (NFL). After four years of playing basketball, his college football career at the University of Miami lasted just one season. He became a member of the NFL when the New Orleans Saints selected him in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Graham has played for a number of different clubs in the NFL throughout the course of his career, including the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, and Seattle Seahawks.

Graham put up outstanding numbers in his second NFL season, catching 99 passes for 1,310 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was selected for his first Pro Bowl and was named an All-Pro player for his position as a result of this outstanding performance. 

He also became the first tight end to surpass 1,000 receiving yards in a single season, creating history for the Saints. He also tied the franchise record for touchdowns in a season and established the record for receptions in a season. He continues to hold the second-most receiving yards and touchdowns by a tight end in a single NFL season record.

The 36-year-old recently signed a one-year contract with the New Orleans Saints, marking his comeback after one year.
