Jalen Kitna, the son of American football quarterback Jon Kitna has been accused of distributing child exploitation materials, as well as sharing pictures of minor sexual abuse on Discord. Jalen, a University of Florida quarterback was arrested and charged with “two counts of distribution of child exploitation material and three counts of possession of child pornography.”  

The Gainesville Police Department said that it carried out a search at Jalen’s Florida residence on Wednesday after they received a tip from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children that a Discord user had distributed an image of child sexual abuse material.

Who is Jon Kitna?

Jon Kelly Kitna is a former professional American football player who was born on September 21, 1972, in Tacoma, Washington.

He attended Concordia Lutheran School before transferring to Lincoln High School where he lettered in baseball and basketball. He completed his graduation from Central Washington University. 

Kitna has played for multiple clubs including the Seattle Seahawks, Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, and Dallas Cowboys during the course of his 17-year NFL career.

In 1997, Kitna was allocated to the Barcelona Dragons of the World League of American Football.  He signed an unrestricted free-agent contract with Cincinnati Bengals in 2001, winning the starting quarterback job.

Around five years later, in 2006, he signed with the Detroit Lions and became the first quarterback in franchise history to earn every snap in a single season. In 2009, he was acquired by the Dallas Cowboys in order to improve their backup quarterback situation.

The 50-year-old player has also served as a coach at multiple institutions, including Lincoln High School (2012 to 2014), Waxahachie High School (2015 to 2017), and Brophy College Preparatory in 2018. He coached Dallas Cowboys in 2019. Since 2020, he has been coaching at Burleson High School in Texas.

Jon is married to Jennifer Kitna, whom he met at Central Washington University during his student years. They have four children, three of whom are or have been quarterbacks.
