Quenton Emerson Nelson is a professional American footballer who plays for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). Hailed as one of the NFL’s best guards, Nelson was first picked by Indianapolis Colts in 2018 in the first round (sixth overall) of that year’s NFL Draft. The football player also received Pro Bowl and first-team All-Pro honours in his first three seasons.

Nelson started playing football in college at Notre Dame, where he was a Unanimous All-American.

On May 11, 2018, Nelson signed Nelson to a fully guaranteed four-year, $23.88 million contract with the Indianapolis Colts. The deal included a signing bonus of $15.45 million.

The Colts player was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for October in 2018 after he was part of an offensive line that hadn’t allowed a sack in 156 straight dropbacks and had 200 rushing yards in back-to-back games for the first time in 33 years.

Nelson then became the first guard to ever win the award. With that, he and Darius Leonard became the first teammates to win awards in the same season. He was named to the Pro Bowl as a rookie and was named first-team All-Pro.

In the 2019 NFL season, Nelson played all 16 games for the Colts. He played 1,042 snaps, giving zero sacks and delivering just three penalties. The player earned a 91.2 point grade from Pro Football Focus following his season’s performance. He was also named as a First Team All-Pro and earned a Pro Bowl nomination for the second consecutive season.

In August 2021, it was reported that Nelson was in need of surgery on his left foot, the recovery time for which was said to be 5-12 weeks but the doctors then announced that the injury was not of a serious nature. In Week 3 of the game, Nelson suffered a high ankle sprain and was placed on an injured reserve on October 2, 2021.
