Cricketer Ajinkya Rahane and wife Radhika Dhopavkar on Wednesday welcomed their second child. The Indian batter shared the news on social media, thanking fans for their love and blessings. 

Rahane announced Radhika and the baby boy are completely healthy.

“This morning, Radhika and I welcomed our baby boy into the world. Both Radhika and the baby are doing well and are completely healthy. We’d like to thank you for all your love and blessings,” Rahane said in a social media post. 

Rahane and Radhika gave birth to their first child, a daughter, in October 2019. Aarya turned three earlier this week. In July this year, the cricketer had shared the news that his wife was pregnant and the couple was expecting their second child.

Who is Radhika Dhopavkar?

Radhika Dhopavkar is Ajinkya Rahane’s wife. She is 32 years old. The couple on Wednesday welcomed their second child. 

Radhika is currently a homemaker. Born in Mumbai, she grew up in a Marathi family. The 32-year-old has a younger sister Shreya. Her father, Nandkumar Dhopavkar, was the head of operations at Aatithya Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. Her mother, Anuja, was an executive director at the same organization. 

She graduated from Mumbai’s VG Vaze College and took up interior designing.

Radhika and Ajinkya Rahane were childhood friends. They lived in the same residential complex in Mulund. The two dated for several years before tying the knot in 2014. 

Rahane was named the vice-captain of the Indian Test team in 2016. Radhika often accompanied him on international tours as well as domestic games. He referred to her as “the biggest supporter” in his life and said that he owes much of his success to her.
