Who is Sofyan Amrabat?

Born on 21 August, 1996, Amrabat is a Moroccan football player. Even though born in the Netherlands, he represents the Moroccan national team. He plays as a midfielder for the Serie A club Fiorentina

Amrabat has succeeded in capturing the KNVB Cup, Johan Cruyff Shield, and the Belgian First Division A championship since the beginning of his professional career.

He began his professional career after joining Utrecht in the Eredivisie in 2014–2015. Prior to his departure, he spent 3 years, made 54 appearances, and managed just one goal.

Though he moved on from Utrecht, he remained in the Eredivisie after joining Feyenoord in 2017–18. After two years, he moved to Club Brugge. His exemplary performance attracted other person, leading him to being loaned out to Italy at Hellas Verona in 2019.

Hellas Verona purchased Amrabat’s rights from Club Brugge. Following this, his rights were immediately sold to Fiorentina. Since the, he has been playing under the umbrella of Fiorentina.

Since he began playing for Morocco in 2017, he has made a total of 43 appearances. He is known to be incredibly versatile and can play anywhere on the pitch or occasionally sit very deep to protect the defence.

He was included in Morocco’s 26-man roster for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar on November 10, 2022. He had a strong performance against Spain on December 6, 2022. He was praised for maintaining possession of the ball in perilous situations and making critical tackles to eliminate the opposing Spanish team from the World Cup. His sportsmanship and critical thinking has increased demand for his services around Europe.
