William Trevor Lawrence, born on October 6, 1999, is an American football quarterback, who plays for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the National Football League (NFL.) The 21-year-old was selected number 1 overall in the NFL draft 2021 by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL 2021 drafts on April 29 earlier this year. He won the national championship in 2018 and led the Clemson Tigers to three straight ACC championship titles.

He holds the record of 34-2 in three years as a quarterback at Clemson University.

Towering at 6 feet, Lawrence is stoutly built with a powerful arm that he uses to throw rare deep-ball with pinpoint accuracy.

Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, Lawrence attended the Cartersville High School in Cartersville, Georgia. During his time there, he played football and basketball. As a junior in 2016, he was The Atlanta Journal-Constitution player of the year after completing 250 of 406 passes for 3,904 yards and 51 touchdowns.

In his sophomore year, he passed for 3,655 yards and 43 touchdowns and as a freshman, he recorded 3,042 yards and 26 touchdowns.

From his sophomore year to senior year, the tall player led the Purple Hurricanes to 41 straight victories as they won two state championships and four region titles. He also received several national high school player of the year honors.

In 2017, Lawrence broke Deshaun Watson‘s Georgia State record for passing yards and passing touchdowns.

Lawrence was regarded as one of the best high school quarterback players of all time. Apart from this, he is also regarded as one of the NFL’s highest regarded amateur prospects.

He often drew comparisons to Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterbacks, John Elway and Peyton Manning. Apart from them, he was also compared to 2012 first overall pick Andrew Luck. His own slogan – “Tank for Trevor” – gained popularity among the fans.

He was also regarded as the fourth-highest-graded quarterback by ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. He was placed behind Elway, Luck, and Manning.
