The Memphis Police Department reports that just before 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, they got a report of a pedestrian being struck at the junction of Coleman Road and Raleigh Lagrange Road. Danielle Ballard was rushed to a nearby hospital, but she was already dead when she got there.

She continued to shine despite the fact that Louisville ultimately eliminated LSU in the Sweet 16 while adding 24 points and 10 rebounds to her tournament totals.
