The conclusion of a Secret Service investigation into who left a little amount of cocaine in the White House earlier last month without naming a suspect has sparked right-wing conspiracy theories about phony investigations and the involvement of Hunter Biden.

Despite the fact that there is zero evidence linking the president’s son to the crime, conservative pundits leapt on the finding and blamed Hunter Biden.

However, it appears that the probe turned up nothing. In the days before the discovery on July 2, sources told CNN that detectives searched through visitation logs and viewed hours of surveillance footage. The baggie was discovered in a West Wing cubby hole that is used by staff-led tours of the White House.

Despite being analyzed by an FBI crime lab, no fingerprints or DNA were discovered on the baggie, according to a summary of the agency’s findings obtained by the Associated Press.

Republican senators were outraged and are still determined to pursue the investigation despite the Secret Service’s acknowledgment that there are no more leads to pursue.

Minutes into a Secret Service briefing for members, Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) reportedly stormed out. Outside, he dubbed the investigation’s result “bogus” and the process as a whole a “complete failure.”

“Y’all know you can’t go in [the White House] without giving your Social Security number anyway, and to say that it’s just some weekend visitor, that’s bogus,” Burchett said. “Nobody’s buying that at all.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) ordered the Secret Service order drug tests for hundreds of people who visited or worked at the White House, on Thursday during an impromptu press conference in order to discover whether any results came back positive for cocaine.

“It makes no sense to me whatsoever why they would not follow through on one simple task, and that’s to drug test a list of 500 people that they have that are potential suspects for this,” Greene said. “This was a failure of this investigation.”

Cocaine was found in the 15th of the 182 lockers used by White House guests to store their belongings, according to Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO). She claimed that the aforementioned cubby was unlocked and without a key.

Boebert, in contrast to Greene, stated that she was okay with the Secret Service’s decision to forgo drug testing White House visitors, stating that it would have been “a very unusual thing to drug screen random citizens,” according to the Post.
