The New York Jets‘ 2016 first-round draught choice, Darron Lee, was taken into custody after being accused of hitting both his mother and the mother of his child. The mother of Lee’s two-year-old son informed the police on Monday that Lee had beaten his own mother, Candice Lee. Candice was sent to a nearby hospital to receive medical care.

Afterward, Lindsey McGlone admitted to the police that Darron Lee had also attacked her in 2022. In an event that happened in October of last year, McGlone recalled Darron accusing her of being deceitful. According to her, “Darron got on top of her while she was in bed, and said ‘that he would kill her and their child.’ She then claimed he punched the pillow next to her head multiple times before he squeezed her throat.”

As per Franklin County Municipal Court records, Lee was detained by Dublin authorities on Monday night. Now, Lee is charged with two misdemeanor counts of domestic abuse and two minor counts of assault. He was still incarcerated as of Tuesday morning.

Lee played college football at Ohio State University, where he was a standout player and led the team to a national championship in 2014. He was selected by the New York Jets in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, and he played for them for three seasons before being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019.

After one season with the Chiefs and getting released in 2020, Darron signed with the Buffalo Bills. He participated in the season there for a while before being let go once more.

For the duration of his NFL career, Lee was known for his speed, athleticism, and ability to cover opposing receivers and tight ends. He appeared in 58 regular-season games, with 38 starts.
