Miami Dolphins’ left tackle Terron Armstead faced a setback in his bid to be ready for the regular season opener after sustaining a right leg injury during a joint practice with the Houston Texans.

Armstead had to be carted off the field and was seen avoiding putting weight on his injured leg while being loaded onto the cart.

The 32-year-old Armstead, who signed with the Dolphins this past season after nine years with the New Orleans Saints, had been working through his recovery process after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery during the offseason.

His absence from the field would be a significant blow to the Dolphins’ offense, as he is a key player in the team’s offensive line. The incident occurred during the 11-on-11 portion of the practice session, with Armstead falling to the ground.
