In the midst of a crucial Week 15 battle against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Indianapolis Colts faced a setback as breakout running back Zack Moss succumbed to injury, complicating their playoff aspirations. Here’s the latest on Moss’s condition as the Colts navigate the challenges of a demanding season.

Zack Moss Injury Update

Trailing 13-0 early in the game, the Colts found momentum thanks to Moss, who narrowed the deficit to 13-7 with a pivotal touchdown. Unfortunately, the celebration was short-lived as Moss suffered a significant injury due to a horse-collar tackle. Despite celebrating a 16-yard TD reception, Moss was seen heading to the bench accompanied by a trainer. Subsequently, it was announced that he would be heading to the locker room.

According to the broadcast, Moss sustained an arm injury, and by late in the third quarter, he was officially downgraded to out for the remainder of the game. Moss left the field after rushing four times for 13 yards and contributing three receptions for 20 yards along with the touchdown. Notably, Moss had previously dealt with a broken arm during the offseason, causing him to miss nearly six weeks.

Zack Moss has been a surprising force for the Colts this season, filling in admirably for the injured Jonathan Taylor. Accumulating over 750 rushing yards and five touchdowns, Moss has emerged as a crucial asset for the Colts, currently ranking 15th in the NFL in rushing yards. His journey includes stints with the Buffalo Bills, where he showcased his skills with 917 yards on 225 carries and eight touchdowns in 31 games before being traded to the Colts midway through the previous season.

With Moss filling in for the injured Jonathan Taylor, his injury creates fantasy implications. While Taylor stands to benefit if he returns at full strength, fantasy players are advised to consider adding Trey Sermon to their roster. Given the Colts’ tendency to provide significant usage to their RB1, Sermon’s proximity to production makes him a must-add, especially with Taylor not operating at full capacity.
