A parody account of Twitter CTO Elon Musk mocked Mark Zuckerberg as ‘Lizard Boy’ and also cited increasing outages reported by Instagram users on Thursday.

As more people decide to migrate from Twitter to the Threads App, owned by Meta, which was launched on July 6, to rival Musk’s popular social networking platform, the parody account launched a fresh attack on the founder of Facebook and Instagram.

“Instagram is reported to have major outages this morning. Lizard boy should focus on his own platforms before copying mine,” the account with over 343,000 followers tweeted, posting a graphic seemingly pointing to the rising number of outages currently faced by Instagram.

In another tweet, the account said, “I spent $44 billion for this app and now Lizard boy just decided to hit copy and paste. It’s personal now. See you in the cage, Zuck.”

The real Musk replied to the later tweet and said, “So many people think this account is me,” to which the parody account hilariously replied, “Sometimes I forget to switch accounts when I post.”

Who is Lizard Boy?

The parody account referred to a certain “Lizard boy” in his tweet, probably meaning it to be a demeaning nickname for Zuckerberg. He also alleged that Zuckerberg had copied his design when it comes to the Threads App. The term started trending on Twitter immediately after the account had posted it.

Incidentally, Lizard Boy is also the superhero musical that follows the story of Trevor, a young man who has lizard scales for skin as he embarks on his first date in a year but ends up discovering he has superpowers.

It was recently reported that Twitter, Inc. has reportedly initiated legal action against Meta Platforms over allegations of trade secret misappropriation regarding Meta’s newly launched “Threads” app. The allegations came after reports of Meta’s hiring numerous former Twitter employees, and raising concerns about the misuse of confidential information and intellectual property.

A letter, penned by Alex Spiro from Quinn Emanuel Trial Lawyers, a renowned Silicon Valley law firm, was addressed to Mark Zuckerberg, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Meta Platforms, on behalf of X Corp., the successor in interest to Twitter. The letter expresses Twitter’s serious concerns regarding Meta’s actions. It accuses Meta of engaging in systematic, willful, and unlawful misappropriation of Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual property.

Twitter further claims that Meta intentionally assigned these former employees to develop Meta’s “Threads” app within a remarkably short timeframe, with the specific intent of using Twitter’s trade secrets and intellectual property to expedite the development of Threads App.

The letter also addresses Meta’s crawling and scraping of Twitter’s followers or following data.
