Subscribers of service provider CenturyLink across the United States reported that the internet was down on Sunday. According to downdetector.com, more than ten thousand people reported about disruption in the service across several US states, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Orlando, Portland, and Miami.

Internet service Cloudfare, which keeps other websites running, was also down. Many services, including the PlayStation Network, Hulu, Xbox Live, Feedly, and Discord were affected due to internet outage.

People took to Twitter to report the issue with the hashtag #Centurylinkdown and #internetoutage among others. The issue was reported by users in other countries as well.

A few hours after various users reported the issue, CenturyLink said that the issue was fixed. Around 9.30 am (7pm IST), it said, “Our technicians are working to resolve an IP outage. Ensuring the reliability of our services is our top priority. We will provide regular updates on our progress.”

An hour later, the internet service provider said the issue was fixed in several locations. “We’ve pulled in every resource available to resolve the outage as soon as we are able and will continue to provide additional updates as they are available.” However, the company later said it cannot confirm that all services by Sunday’s IP have been restored.
