Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan who celebrated his birthday on Sunday took to Twitter to reveal the first look of his latest project “Dhamaka” to fans.

The Love Aaj Kal actor who turned 30 on Sunday is all set to appear for the Ram Madhvani directed thriller ‘Dhamaka.”

The movie marks Aaryan’s first collaboration with director Ram Madhvani, who previously directed the Sonam Kapoor starrer Neerja and Sushmita Sen-fronted web series ‘Aarya.”

The 30-year-old actor tweeted the poster of the movie along with the caption “Aaj mera Birthday hai, DHAMAKA hona chahiye.”

In the poster Aaryan sports a bearded look with long locks and is seen wearing a blue suit, as he looks out of a window pensively, watching the Bandra-Worli Sea Link Bridge burn.

The press release of the movie states that it gives a bird’s eye view into the workings of a modern news channel in the 21st century.

The movie will be produced in collaboration with Ronnie Screwvala, Amita Madhvani and Ram Madhvani.

In the movie, Aaryan will play the role of a journalist who covers the live broadcast of a terror attack in Mumbai.

Aaryan who entered recognition for his role in Pyaar Ka Punchnama, said “This for me is a miracle script and had me on the edge of my seat all through the narration. I knew this is the script that would give me the opportunity to explore a different side of me as an actor.”

The 30-year-old added, “I can’t wait to transport myself to Ram sir’s world and see his vision translate on the big screen. This is also the first time I am collaborating with Ronnie and RSVP, and I am looking forward to this journey.”

Director Madhavani who has labelled the movie as a thriller, heaped praises on Kartik and said “As a director, I am inclined towards human stories… This film demanded a young actor, with a certain amount of rawness in the space. Kartik, being one of the most talented actors in Bollywood, fits the bill.”

Producer Screwvala who has produced hits like Rang De Basanti, Jodha Akbar and Barfi said, “When Ram came to me with the script, I knew that I couldn’t miss out on this one, and we got a similar reaction when we narrated the script to Kartik as well.”

The shooting for the movie will begin in December and will be released in 2021.
