Liam Payne, the former One Direction member, has made the difficult decision to postpone his South American tour. This postponement is a result of his hospitalization due to a “serious kidney infection,” as shared by Payne on his Instagram account on Friday morning.

The English singer in an Instagram post wrote, “It’s with a heavy heart I have to tell you that we have no other choice but to postpone my upcoming tour of South America. Over the past week I’ve been in hospital with a serious kidney infection, it’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone, and doctors orders are that I now need to rest and recover.”

Payne openly said that he had been “a little bit unwell recently” in a video greeting to his fans. He had even started rehearsing for the tour, which was initially supposed to start on September 1 in Lima, Peru.

He continued, “I’ve just been advised that now is really not the time to be out on the road trying to recover from this,” stressing the value of his health and wellbeing.

Payne in his post also mentioned that ticket refunds will be issued, and he urged fans to stay tuned for updates from their respective points of purchase. He concluded his message by thanking everyone for their unwavering love and support and expressed his anticipation of reuniting with his fans in the near future.

In his post, Payne expressed his feelings, saying, “I was beyond excited to come play for you guys.” He went on to apologize to all the fans who had purchased tickets, stating, “I’m so sorry.” Payne assured them that efforts are underway to reschedule the tour at the earliest possible opportunity.

He told his fans to stay vigilant for instructions regarding the ticket refund process and expressed his eagerness to reunite with them once the tour has been successfully rescheduled.

Liam’s South American tour had initially been scheduled to run from September 1 to September 12, with planned stops in cities including Lima and São Paulo.
