‘Prison Break’ star Wentworth Miller
recently told his fans that he was diagnosed with autism a year ago. He shared his about his diagnosis on Instagram. Posting a blank picture, he wrote, “This
isn’t anything I’d alter … immediately being autistic is important to who I
am. To everything I’ve accomplished and stated.”

He continued:
“This fall marks 1 year since I received my informal autism diagnosis.
Preceded by a self-diagnosis. Followed by a formal diagnosis. It was a long,
flawed process in need of updating. I’m a middle-aged man. Not a
5-year-old.”

Autism Diagnosis is a developmental disorder that affects communication and behaviour.

Miller suggested that autism diagnosis is a privilege
that most of the people may not like or enjoy. He claimed that he was not
very aware about this diagnosis and added that their was a lot more to
learn about it.

The ‘Prison Break’ actor stated that
at that point of time his work looked like evolving his understanding and
re-examining 5 decades of lived journey through a  renewed lens.

He said he knew that the #autistic community
had historically been talked over. Miller suggested that he did not wish to do
any additional harm.

The actor then expressed his gratitude to the people
who consciously or unconsciously gave him exactly what he needed, supplementary
grace and space over the years. He thanked them for allowing him to move
through the world in a way that it made sense to him whether or not it made
sense to them.
