Three-time MVP Aaron Rodgers reportedly does not want to return to the Greenbay Packers in the next NFL season, feelings that the 37-year-old Quarterback is said to have shared with key members of the Packers organization, ESPN has reported, quoting sources.

The report said that the team management is concerned about Rodgers’ unhappiness and that several high-ranking officials have reached out to Rodgers at various points in the offseason.

The Greenbay Packers have made clear they don’t want to part ways with their star quarterback. “As we’ve stated since the season ended, we are committed to Aaron in 2021 and beyond. Aaron has been a vital part of our success and we look forward to competing for another championship with him leading our team,” Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst told ESPN.

Gutekunst, team president Mark Murphy and head coach Matt LaFleur are said to have held separate meetings with Rodgers, who is the reigning MVP or Most Valuable Player of the NFL.

The San Francisco 49ers have reportedly approached Rodgers. In January this year the Los Angles Rams had reached out to the Packers, who did not wish to discuss Rodgers’ exit.

NFL reporter Trey Wingo has tweeted, also quoting sources, “The Packers reportedly told Aaron Rodgers they were going to trade him in the off season, then backed off. It’s been a bleep show between them ever since. And within the last week Rodgers told the team.. trade or no trade I’m not coming back. Buckle up folks.”

Rodgers is only the sixth player to win the MVP award three times. The others are Peyton Manning (five times), Jim Brown, Johnny Unitas, Brett Favre, and Tom Brady.
