A shooting incident occurred at a home in the 300 block of Walnut Circle just before 2 p.m. in Bolingbrook. The incident left one person injured.
Authorities arrived and found a man with a clearly visible gunshot wound. It was discovered that the attacker had left the house on foot before the police arrived. As a result of a manhunt for a shooting suspect, residents in the Bolingbrook suburb were told to seek shelter, and schools were placed on lockdown on Monday afternoon.

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment, and according to Bolingbrook police, the shooting appears to have been the result of a domestic argument rather than an accident.
According to Darien police, Bolingbrook police are currently searching the area for a male suspect who is thought to be on foot and possibly armed. The suspect is described by authorities as a 5-foot-6 male who weighs about 130 pounds and is in his 20s.
The Bolingbrook Police Department advised citizens to avoid the area of Boughton Road and Route 53 while officers worked to catch a suspect in a gunshot incident in an official statement released at 2:56 p.m.

Valley View Community School District 365-U also posted information on allegations of gunfire and a suspect on the run near Brooks Middle School on X. The tweet read, “Bolingbrook law enforcement advising shelter in place due to reports of gunfire and at-large suspect in the vicinity of Brooks Middle School. All Bolingbrook schools are under “secure building and teach” and dismissal is being delayed until the all clear is given.”

According to Bolingbrook police, the gunshot incident happened in the 300 block of Walnut Circle at around 1:54 p.m. According to the police’s preliminary investigations, the shooting was not an accident but rather resulted from a family argument.
