Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, second person to set foot on the moon in 1969, late Friday announced that he has married his “longtime love” Dr Anca Faur on his 93rd birthday. He said that the wedding took place in a private ceremony in Los Angeles.
“On my 93rd birthday & the day I will also be honored by Living Legends of Aviation I am pleased to announce that my longtime love Dr. Anca Faur & I have tied the knot,” Aldrin wrote on social media.
“We were joined in holy matrimony in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles & are as excited as eloping teenagers,” he added.
Aldrin was a Lunar Module Eagle pilot on the1969 Apollo 11 mission. He and commander Neil Armstrong were the first two people to land on moon.

Buzz Aldrin is a father of three: James Michael Aldrin, Janice Ross Aldrin and Andrew John Aldrin. He had them from his first marriage to Joan Archer Aldrin.

Aldrin and Joan got married in 1954. Their children recalled what is was like watching Buzz land on the moon on TV.
“I didn’t have a concept that this was coming from the moon, and how crazy that was,” Janice told CNN in July 2021.
“I was just disappointed that it wasn’t in color.”
Joan Aldrin died in 2015. She and Buzz are grandparents to Janice’s son – Jeffrey Michael Schuss.
Jefferey is married to April Schuss. The two have three sons – Nathaniel, Benjamin and Archer. Thus Buzz Aldrin is also a great grandfather.

“The latest addition to our family, great-granddaughter with great curiosity! Kaia Nicole, born September 22,” he wrote on Facebook.
In 2018, Buzz filed a lawsuit against Andrew and Janice. He accused his children and longtime manager Christina Korp of taking control of his credit cards, using his money for their own gain, undermining his romantic relationships, and slandering him by telling others that he has dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
