The two-month-long search into the disappearance of California woman Jolissa Fuentes ended after the 22-year-old’s body was found, officials announced Tuesday.

Fuentes’ body was found at a crash scene at the foot of a 400-foot cliff in a rural area of Fresno County north of Pine Flat Lake.

Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims said at a press conference that a search was launched after police found evidence that Fuentes’ car had run off a road.

The woman’s family filed a missing report on August 7 after she went home from a family gathering to collect some belongings.

Fuentes was last seen leaving a convenience store while driving a 2011 silver Hyundai Accent, police said, adding that the vehicle was found during a search operation.

The cause of the crash remains unknown. However, police suspect that Fuentes was most likely tired after being up throughout the night.

The area where Fuentes’ body was found had been searched previously, but the operation was hindered by dense brush.

Search and rescue teams went 400 feet below to recover Fuentes’ body Monday night, officials said.

Fuentes’ parents, Norma Nunez and Joey Fuentes, who were hoping that there daughter is still alive attended the press conference Tuesday. They thanked local law enforcement and the public for their support.
