CNN host Chris Cuomo said on Monday that he would not cover the stories regarding his older brother, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who has been accused of sexual harassment by three women.
Chris made the comments at the start of his 9 pm show on Monday and quickly moved on to other topcs, according to USA Today.
Chris said, “Obviously, I’m aware of what’s going on with my brother. Obviously, I cannot cover it because he is my brother. Now, of course CNN has to cover it. They have covered it extensively and they will continue to do so.”
According to Chris, he cares about the issues brought up by the women who have accused his brother. Lindsey Boylan and Charlotte Bennett, who worked for Andrew in state governments have separately accused him of making unwanted advances.
The New York Times reported on Monday that a third woman has alleged that she had been made uncomfortable by Andrew’s behavior at a wedding reception.
Both Andrew and Chris, are sons of the late New York Governor Mario Cuomo. Mario was a Democrat who served three terms in the 1980s and 1990s. Andrew is in his third term as New York’s leader.
Ever since he joined CNN in 2013, the network has prevented Chris from doing stories about his brother.
