After both teams galloped through the group and knockout stages undefeated, the United States and Mexico are all set to lock horns in the CONCACAF Gold Cup final on Sunday. 

While the Gold Cup finals are in itself a grand affair but to have two countries with a lot of history between them squaring off for the ultimate glory is what dream footballing ties are made up of.

STARTING XI:

United States

Coach Gregg Berhalter has opted to start forward Gyasi Zardes from the first whistle given his performances from the match in the previous matches of the tournament.

For the USMNT, George Bello will start from the left-back position. A lot of hopes will be pegged on Matt Turner, who has been in a fine vein of form.

The Americans will be hoping to claim the trophy for the first time since 2017.

Mexico

For El Tri, coach Gerardo Martino has opted for only one change. Centre-back Carlos Salcedo has been benched and Nestor Araujo will take his place in the starting lineup. 

Rogelio Funes Mori will lead the line for Mexico. In Jesus Corona and Orbelin Pineda, the Mexicans have extreme pace down the wings and expect them to use that in the grand finale.
