Deion Patterson, Northside Hospital, Midtown Atlanta shooting suspect, was found at the Waterford Place apartments. The police department announced that the 24-year-old is in custody.

Patterson shot five women, one of whom died, and three are critically injured. A county police department officer told CNN that the mass shooter was apprehended in Cobb County in a condominium complex near Truist Park at roughly 7:45 PM ET.

Patterson, as per the City of Atlanta, has been taken into custody and is being escorted back to Fulton County. Police Chief Darin Schierbaum did not identify the victims but confirmed that they were aged 25, 39, 39, 56 and 71.

Patterson escaped from the hospital premises. He was seen in a carjacked vehicle in the Cobb County area around 12:30 PM, according to Police Sgt. Wayne Delk. Cobb County was alerted around 2:30 PM.

The 24-year-old was seen in camera footage from Windy Ridge Parkway and Heritage Court. The car was recovered in a parking garage near Truist Park, which is the Atlanta Braves’ home stadium.

Patterson, as per his mother’s statement to The Daily Beast, opened fire after he was not given a particular medicine. The Atlanta Police Department told CNN that he was seeking new treatment after being dissatisfied with the care he was receiving from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Patterson joined the Coast Guard in 2018. But he was discharged in January 2023.
